July 2025 Fishing Report for Perdido Key

Pensacola & Perdido Key Fishing Report – July 21, 2025: Strong Snapper & King Mackerel Action!
Hey folks, Captain Rooster here with the latest fishing report from the emerald waters of Pensacola and Perdido Key. Even as we push into the heart of summer, the fishing season is still going strong with plenty of action to go around. The heat is on, but so is the bite! Whether you're a seasoned angler or planning a family fishing trip, the Gulf is serving up some fantastic opportunities right now.
Offshore Report: The Snapper Bite is Still on Fire!
I know we're halfway through the season, but the American Red Snapper bite is surprisingly good and holding steady. We're not having to travel far from the Pensacola Pass to find productive wrecks and reefs holding big schools of these hard-fighting fish. Many of our recent Pensacola deep sea fishing charters have returned to the dock with happy anglers and impressive limits. Alongside the reds, the Mingo Snapper (Vermilion Snapper) bite has been incredibly consistent, providing nonstop action and a "good grade" of tasty fish for the cooler on almost every trip.
Out on the troll, the action has been heating up as well. The King Mackerel have been showing up in big numbers, chasing bait schools just a few miles off the beach. We're also seeing a welcome splash of color with a few beautiful Mahi-Mahi hitting the fly lines – always an exciting surprise!
Captain Rooster's Outlook: Getting Ready for the Reef Donkeys!
The fishing is great now, and it's only going to get more exciting as we look towards the end of summer and the beginning of fall. We're all looking forward to the upcoming seasons for those deep-water brawlers. Amberjack season and Gag Grouper season are on the horizon, and that means we'll be gearing up to battle some of the strongest fighting fish in the Gulf. If you're looking to book a trip for some serious rod-bending action, now is the time to start planning for those openers.
The bite is hot and the seas are calm. We still have some dates available for late-season snapper or a fun trolling trip for kings and mahi. Give us a call to book your Pensacola or Perdido Key fishing charter and let's get you out on the water!
Tight Lines,
Captain Rooster
